‘Cheesy’ Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Continuing our theme of looking at how to fancy up basic veg, here’s a great way to enjoy Brussel sprouts.  Even the kids will be keen to try these!


2 generous cups of brussel sprouts. (raw)

1 Tbspn of tahini

1 Tbspn of water (warm)

1 Tbspn of nutritional yeast – available from supermarkets or Robinsons

2 tspn of lemon juice

½ teaspoon of sweet paprika

½ tspn of garlic powder

½ tspn of salt

½ tspn of pepper


Preheat the oven to 205 degrees c. Line an oven tray with baking paper.

In a small bowl, combine the tahini, water, oil, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, pepper and salt. Stir until a smooth sauce is formed.

In a medium sized bowl, toss the brussel sprouts and sauce until the brussel sprouts are completely coated.

Lay the brussels sprouts out the baking tray and top with more nutritional yeast. Roast the in the oven for 35 mins, turning halfway through. Once lightly browned, remove from oven.
