How does Prep work?
Each week order your Prep meals by midnight MONDAY for delivery the following Tuesday or Wednesday depending which area you live in.

Stock your work or home freezer with ready to eat healthy home cooked meals and have more time doing the stuff you enjoy and less time in the kitchen.
Prep has a variety of healthy frozen meals to choose from or you can choose from the Prep Frozen Packs.
Is Prep healthy?
Prep’s meals are 100% plant based made from vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, they are extremely nutrient enriched to fuel your body every day. Every meal is made from whole fresh ingredients with no additives or preservatives.
Most of the ingredients are organic and sourced from local farms and trusted suppliers.
The meals range from 200-600 calories so it’s very easy keep track of what you are eating so you can either bulk up or lose weight. Being plant based your skin, eyes and hair will glow from the health benefits.
We love spice at Prep so if you aren’t too keen on hot dishes we suggest you have some greek flavoured coconut yoghurt (Raglan is our favourite brand) on hand to add if needed for cooling.

Can I come pick up from the Prep kitchen?
Absolutely. Our hours differ but you can come to the Prep Kitchen when we are there to pick up and choose your meals. The best days are Tuesdays – Fridays 10am – 1.30pm

How is Prep delivered?
Prep is delivered in chilled boxes with ice packs and will be ok in the box out of the sun/heat for 6-8 hours. Prep is delivered to your home or work address on Tuesdays or Wednesdays depending which area you live in in AUCKLAND, within normal business hours. All of the packaging is bio-degradable including the eco friendly bamboo containers. When you receive your Prep just stick the meals in your freezer.
We strive to process all deliveries by 6pm. Most of Prep’s clients order a few days worth of meals to stock their work or home freezer.
Please ensure that you prepare for your delivery by allocating an area for us to store the food. We recommend a chilli bin if you are not home or cannot use your freezer at work.
If you are in Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North or Wellington you can pick up your order the following Thursday (allowing at least 4 days from ordering to get your order down to your depot).
Christchurch please allow 1 week from ordering for your order to get down to your depot.
How many people does one portion feed?
Each meal is 400 grams and will feed 1 hungry person easily or can be halved and paired with a side salad or greens for two meals.
When do my meals need to be eaten by?
Your Prep meals are labelled FROZEN so just pop in the freezer as soon as you receive them.
It can help to place a biodegradable bag at the bottom of the containers when in the freezer, because they are made from bamboo (wood) they can stick to the bottom of the freezer and can sometimes be hard to pull off.
all meals have a batch number and use by date usually 2-4 months from purchase. The breakfast burritos should be consumed within 4 weeks.
How much does delivery cost?
Nationwide: $20 – $30
Is there a minimum order?
A minimum order of $70 is required for delivery. There is no minimum if you want to come pick up from the Prep Kitchen in Avondale AUCKLAND.
How to heat Prep meals
All Prep meals come in biodegradable compostable containers that can go in the freezer, fridge, microwave and oven. Just peel off the label and leave the lid on when heating. Meals will stay good for 5 days defrosted in the fridge. Do not refreeze once defrosted. All appliances are different so heat accordingly.
For best results
Heat from frozen in a non-stick frying pan on low-medium heat for 10 minutes with a bit of water with the lid on, breaking it up halfway.
Place in microwave with lid on for 2 minutes, then break up the most frozen part in the middle then place in oven with lid on at 200 degrees celsius for 15-25 minutes until piping hot.
Place in microwave with lid on for 1 minute, give a good stir then place in oven with lid on at 200 degrees celsius for 10-15 minutes until piping hot.
Place in microwave with lid on for 3 minutes on high, then give it a good stir then replace lid and heat for a further 2-3 minutes until piping hot.
*Pasta dishes – pour in 2 tablespoons of water before heating.
Place in microwave with lid on for 1 minute, give a good stir then replace lid and heat for a further 1-2 minutes until piping hot.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees celsius, pour a tablespoon of water on first then place in oven with lid on for 20 minutes, give a good stir then replace lid and heat for a further 20-25 minutes until piping hot.
*Rice/quinoa dishes – pour 1 tablespoon of water on before heating.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees celsius, place in oven with lid on for 10 minutes, give a good stir then replace lid and heat for a further 15-20 minutes until piping hot.
Take the tin foil off and microwave on high from frozen for 1 minute on each side.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees celsius.
Place in oven with tinfoil on for 20-30 minutes.
Pasta Cups, Soups and Cauli Bites
Take lid off. Add 100mls of water and microwave on high from frozen for 2 minutes. Give it a stir then heat again for a further 1-2 minutes until piping hot. Alternatively, you can heat in oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring halfway.
Take lid off. Microwave on high for 2 minutes then stir and heat again for another 1-2 minutes until piping hot.
Alternatively, tip into a pot with a little water and heat over medium heat. Stir until pipping hot or take lid off and heat in oven at 200 degrees for 20-30 minutes stirring half way.
Take lid off. Best heated in the air fryer for 10 mins high tossing halfway. Or in oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes stirring half way.
